August 1, 20120– The annual meeting of the Lake Wicwas Association will be virtual this year due to health concerns related to the covid-19 pandemic. 2019
August 3, 2019 – The annual meeting of the Lake Wicwas Association was held from 9:30am to noon at the Lake Wicwas Grange located next to the Meredith Center store at the intersections of Meredith Center Rd, Corliss Hill Rd, and Livingston Rd. Andrew Timmins, NH State Bear Biologist gave a presentation about black bears around Lake Wicwas as well as around the state. You can find Andrew’s presentation here.
August 10, 2019 – Tenth Annual Lake Wicwas Paddle Regatta and Barbeque (12:00pm) The Paddle Regatta will once again have a destination of Lavon and Wayne Blake’s home. Plan to arrive between 12:00 and 1:00 pm, with food being served at 1:00. You may also come by car for the barbeque. For details on the BBQ call Lavon Blake at 279-6683.
2018
August 18, 2018 – Ninth Annual Lake Wicwas Paddle Regatta (11:30m) and Barbeque (12:30pm). This year’s event will be a Pick-Up Parade, starting at Marge and Dave Thorpe’s point at 11:30 and ending at Lavon and Wayne Blake’s home for the barbeque at 12:30 pm. You can find a map of the parade route here. You may also come by car for the barbeque at 12:30. For details on the parade contact call Scott Powell at 279-7449. August 4, 2018 – The annual meeting of the Lake Wicwas Association was held at 9:30am – noon at the Lake Wicwas Grange located next to the Meredith Center store at the intersections of Meredith Center Rd, Corliss Hill Rd, and Livingston Rd. The meeting started 9:30 AM with coffee and social time, and the business meeting commenced at 10 AM. Henry Stevens, biologist with the Loon Preservation Committee spoke about the loons on Lake Wicwas as well as around the state. You can find Henry’s presentation here.

August 12, 2017 – Eighth Annual Lake Wicwas Paddle Regatta, in conjunction with the Lakes Region Conservation Trust, 8:45am at the public boat ranch. A representative from the Lakes Region Conservation Trust will speak about the properties they have helped to conserve around the lake and the importance they have on water quality, wildlife, and property values. August 6, 2016 – Annual Meeting of the Lake Wicwas Association, was held at 9:30am at the Lake Wicwas Grange in Meredith Center. There were refreshments and social time at 9:30; the annual business meeting began at 10:00. The keynote speaker Harry Vogel, Senior Biologist and Executive Director of the Loon Preservation Committee, provided an excellent presentation on loons, including the loon rescues from the ice this past winter. Iain MacLeod, Executive Director of the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center in Holderness, will speak on “Tracking Ospreys from New Hampshire to South America.” Project OspreyTrack is a multi-year project using GPS trackers to follow Ospreys from their nests in New Hampshire to their wintering grounds in South America. Hear about the foraging behaviors of breeding male Ospreys and the amazing and sometimes tragic stories of ten NH Ospreys. Iain has studied Ospreys for more than 30 years and is known internationally for his studies.
July 15, 2014 – NHDOT meeting on proposed intersection improvements for NH104 at Meredith Center Road and Chase Road 6 PM at the Meredith Community Center, Meeting Room B, One Circle Drive, in Meredith. The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project. The meeting is also to solicit public input in order to ensure that the project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment.
July 14, 2014 – Meredith meeting on Shoreland Protection 6:00 PM. The Town of Meredith is hosting “Shoreland Protection: What You Need to Know” at the Meredith Community Center, 1 Circle Drive, for homeowners, landscapers, and other contractors interested in vegetation management to preserve water quality. August 4, 2012 – Annual meeting of Lake Wicwas Association. LWA President Tom Crane gave a presentation on major conservation actions that were taken around the lake in the past. On behalf of the LWA Board and LWA membership, Marge Thorpe presented framed certificates of appreciation to family members representing Frances Eames, Lou Kahn and Barbara Smyth, Roger and Evelyn Harris, Norman and Joan Harris, and Leighton and Agnes Harris. Representatives from the families of Rawson Wood and Bob and Beate Hamlin were unable to attend.

August 6, 2011 – Annual meeting of Lake Wicwas Association. Featured speaker was Jeff Schloss, focusing on lake ecology and protection and practical tips about landscaping near the lake. Jeff holds a joint appointment as a Research Scientist in the UNH Freshwater Biology Group, and as a Water Resources Specialist with UNH Cooperative Extension. Since 1986, he has been the coordinator of the New Hampshire Lakes Lay Monitoring Program (NH LLMP), a grass roots lake and tributary monitoring program initiated in 1979. Jeff encouraged us to reference Landscaping at the Water’s Edge, a manual for New Hampshire landowners and landscapers, from UNH Cooperative Extension.
