The Lake Wicwas Association was established in 1982 with the dual objectives of protecting Lake Wicwas and its watershed, and increasing the sense of community around the lake. The late Jim De Mott was the first president. It is a 501 (c) (4) non-profit organization with a board of directors elected by the members. The stated objective for the organization is:
To serve, protect and promote Lake Wicwas, its islands, and the lands bordering it as well as the aesthetic beauty, water quality, and recreational opportunities of the lake, its islands, and its bordering land.
Membership is open to all shore front and island owners and others interested in Lake Wicwas. Dues are $20 per person and payable on January 1st for the calendar year. Dues must be paid to be a voting member of the association.
The annual meeting of the association is typically held on the first Saturday of August in Meredith Center.
